Wearable technology: using Google Glass as a teaching tool.
Wearable technology holds great promise in revolutionising healthcare delivery. The benefits can also be seen in medical education and delivering healthcare in remote places. We report the use of Google Glass technology as a teaching tool in broadcasting a procedure onto a mobile phone as a viewer, replacing expensive and often cumbersome existing equipment.
متن کاملPotential uses of wearable technology in medicine: lessons learnt from Google Glass.
Whether or not the general populace is ready to accept Glass or similar optical head mounted wearables into general mainstream use, Glass has made some inroads into the practice of medicine and healthcare in general (2,3). While medicine and the overall healthcare environment have often been lauded for their slow uptake of technology, there are still many new adopters who look to integrate tech...
متن کاملWearable learning: How Google Glass is changing education?
Wearable computers have become very popular among consumers last year. The emergence of new types of devices (including bracelets, watches, clothing and glasses) can significantly change our society, consumer markets and education. The demand is constantly growing and the global spread of such devices is expected to increase in the near future. One of the most anticipated and popular wearable c...
متن کاملGesture-based Continuous Authentication for Wearable Devices: the Google Glass Case
We study the feasibility of touch gesture behavioural biometrics for implicit authentication of users on wearable devices like Google Glass. While such implicit authentication systems have been proposed for smartphones, it is unclear whether they are also accurate and computationally efficient on wearables such as Glass. For example, the small form factor of Glass introduces constraints such as...
متن کاملA Wearable Face Recognition System on Google Glass for Assisting Social Interactions
In this paper, we present a wearable face recognition (FR) system on Google Glass (GG) to assist users in social interactions. FR is the first step towards face-to-face social interactions. We propose a wearable system on GG, which acts as a social interaction assistant, the application includes face detection, eye localization, face recognition and a user interface for personal information dis...
